Role Play at the Palaces

 On a wet and windy Tuesday Class 6 set off to the Bishop's and Earl's Palace to learn their roles for the coming season of tour guiding.  Everyone showed a mature attitude and worked hard;
lines were read clearly with a strong Orcadian dialect coming through now and again!  The group also considered what qualities an audience would be looking for, for example expression and tone of voice.
There will now be lots of practising to ensure lines are learned for the launch at the end of April.

Genuis Hour Update

We have been working away on our individual projects for the last few weeks.  There are a wide range of themes being covered with the children using a variety of skills to extend their knowledge.  We hope to round everything off before holidays and share what we have learned with our peers.

Class 5/6 visit the Library

We continued our World Book Day sessions with the Nursery last week when we went to the local library. There was lots of interest in the different books with Primary 5/6's doing a fantastic job reading the stories in a fun and interesting way.

There are some lovely relationships developing between the two groups.  The older pupils are being positive role models in a range of ways.  Well done guys!

World Book Day

We were invited to the nursery on Thursday to share stories with the younger children.  We read some of the Claire Freedman books which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.  Class 5/6 were fantastic story tellers, reading confidently and asking fun and interesting questions.  We are going back for the next two weeks to develop the activity and catch up with our younger friends.
